From the Principal's Desk

Dear all,

We had an eventful first semester, where we took the time to work together as a school family. The students had various opportunities to learn and grow together. Level camps were held for students to pick up new skills, values and knowledge. We took part in various inter-school competitions, and clocked some achievements along the way. Our performing arts groups participated in the SYF Arts Presentation, our sports groups competed in the National School Games and other national competitions, just to name a few.

As a family, we have also worked together and identified ways we will help students to develop their potential in different domains. We initiated the peer support system for the classes, to provide additional pairs of eyes and ears for us to reach out to students in need. We initiated several partnerships as we want to provide more opportunities for students, whether in our student leadership programme, our applied learning programme, our academic subjects or co-curricular programmes.

As a school, we have also taken a look at ourselves, and have arrived at a common understanding of the Yuhua identity. We will unveil our new identity in time to come. The essence of our work remains the same even as our new identity takes shape, and that is to help our students realise their potential so that they can contribute to the Singapore society, and be outstanding individuals who will make their families proud of them.

As we look to the future, let us also remember our heritage - the hard work and toil our staff and stakeholders of both Shuqun and Yuhua in shaping the school into what it is today. For it takes a village to raise a child. I hope all of us will join our efforts together, to prepare students for a future Singapore society that is inclusive and welcoming to all.
